About

Where I've Been

I have spent the first 20 years of my professional life in the hospitality industry, with the last decade+ at a Forbes Five Star casino-resort on the Las Vegas Strip. I earned my degree in Hospitality Management from UNLV with honors and advanced through multiple management roles, leading teams and delivering exceptional experiences to guests from around the globe.

In my role overseeing high-limit gaming operations, I am responsible for coordinating with hosts, managers, dealers, butlers, and support staff to ensure the needs of our most discerning guests - including billionaires and celebrities - are met flawlessly. These experiences honed my ability to communicate clearly, adapt quickly, and solve complex problems under pressure.

My work also involves collaborating with colleagues from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, often bridging communication gaps to keep operations running smoothly. I have learned how to connect with people from every walk of life - skills that translate directly to teamwork in any industry.

While I have built a successful career in hospitality, I am ready for my next challenge - one that combines my problem-solving mindset with my passion for technology.

What I’ve Done to Move Into Software Development

Over the past two and a half years, I’ve invested heavily in learning software development - starting with FreeCodeCamp, a Google-sponsored Data Analytics course on Coursera, and a Python course on Udemy. My interest quickly grew into a clear career path, leading me to earn my B.S. in Computer Science from Southern New Hampshire University, graduating with a 4.0 GPA.

Through my coursework, I gained experience with the full software development lifecycle, object-oriented programming, and multiple programming languages, including Java, C++, and Python. Every week brought new challenges, tight deadlines, and opportunities to push my skills further.

What I’m Working on Now

Since graduating, I’ve continued expanding my expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, and full-stack development. I now work as a Full Stack Developer at Sugarloaf Web Solutions, LLC, where I’ve built:

These projects have allowed me to combine technical skill with real-world problem solving-whether it’s saving money for a client, improving engagement, or creating tools that make learning more effective.

Why I’m the Best Fit

I bring the same high standards, adaptability, and people-first approach that defined my hospitality career into my work as a developer. Combined with my technical skills, these qualities make me a valuable asset to any software development team.
